A week ago (couple weeks ago? I lose track of time) I saw Jamie Lidell perform at the El Rey in LA. He is fabulous, and since I was right up against the stage, he gave me the microphone (I freaked out ha ha) and then I touched him! Here is a video of him performing if you haven't heard of him. He sings that song from the commercial "a little bit more, a little bit more" but has some other really amazing songs. Jamie, you have a voice like butter:

<lj-embed id="4" />

New Weezer album on June 3rd? I don't know how I feel about Weezer anymore. I was obsessed with them from 6th-9th grades, had all their B-sides and bootlegs, etc. Now, I dunno. After "Make Believe"...not sure what to think. Saw the music video for "Pork and Beans" and it seems too gimmicky. Of course I'm still gonna get the Red Album though! It's Weezer!!

So I got my first sunburn of the summer on Memorial Day. Not good. But...it was the most gorgeous day, one of the prettiest beaches I've been to in Orange County.

P.S. I love the 'cuzzi.

I watched this show religiously when I was little...then my parents refused to pay for the Disney channel and I couldn't watch anymore, very traumatizing.
Today my religion professor explained the Brahman/Atman relationship in Hinduism perfectly:

"Imagine we are all like holiday cookies...all different shapes and decorations. However, we are all made out of the same cookie dough."

I loved the way she explained this. She is so cool, this really sharply dressed white lady who's fluent in Hindi, knows Rajasthani, and has spent years living with different families studying Hinduism in Rajasthan. She writes in books and is the head of these religion conferences where all these religious leaders meet from around the world. My favorite class this semester, hands down.

So I'm not taking French anymore, what was I thinking?! Too ambitious. I filled it with a different class and I'm hoping it will be better. Honestly, taking a French class right before my Spanish convo class would have been way too confusing.

I got some recipes (rice pudding, tres leches cake) from my aunt and I'm excited. She catered for a really long time (even during WWII) and can whip up anything and it will be the tastiest thing you will ever eat. I really admire her. I wish I could just whip up food like that with such ease. It would really come in handy. Forget Rachel Ray or whoever. SHE is my favorite cook.

I'm going to complain but I'm really annoyed at my brother. He didn't come home last night and his freaking alarm went off at 7 this morning...

It's cold and windy outside, and my mom and I rented a movie to watch...classes start tomorrow, after a lovely 6 week break...bye

I really wish I wasn't sick. Not seeing the outside world really dampens my spirit. I miss my friends, a lot of them are already going back to school and I've maybe seen them like once because I've been sick. Missed New Years and other events, which was probably the thing that has gotten me the saddest. Nobody likes to feel like they've missed out on things. All I do all day is get up, lie in bed, watch TV, sleep, and drink Sprite and water, and also go on my computer. Getting people to cover my shifts at work really sucks ass, I hate it so much. I know there's nothing I can do and "I shouldn't feel sorry for myself" but it's just so depressing, not to mention painful. Each cough hurts so bad. Doc said it lasts at least 3 weeks, if not more. This was supposed to be my time off to enjoy myself...and there's been little to no enjoyment so far :( It's just really frustrating to me. I can sense myself getting better but I just have to keep resting or else it will flare up again.

On the bright side...I've watched the entire 9 seasons of America's Next Top Model. No lie. Tyra's nuts.

Also...so weird...there was a very slim possibility of me going up to Sac next month...which of course didn't work out but I thought it was very odd. It's funny how people are.

Well, off to use my inhaler...I've never had one so it vaguely excites me to use it :)
